Life Essentials Class: Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit class provides an opportunity for the Christian to learn about the role the Holy Spirit plays in one’s life – including prayer, guidance, council, comfort, spiritual gifts, and baptism. Women’s Bible Study - Our next study in the book of Isaiah with Sandy MacIntosh begins Tuesday, October 12th, at 6:30pm, and repeats Wednesday morning, October 13th, at 9:30am in the Cafe. [Info: ext. 1239]

Missionary Christmas Blessing - This year you can sponsor a Christmas care package for one of our 23 missionaries. A list of suggested items, boxes, and cards will be available at the missions tables in front of the gym starting September 19th. Donations will also be accepted. Lunchtime Bible Study - The lunch time bible study has started up again on Thursdays, from 12:30-2pm, in the Horizon Bookstore. Bring your lunch and come for part or for all of the study in the book of Galatians.

New! Established 1828 - Established 1828 is a new small-group ministry focused on providing a place of fellowship and Bible Studies for young adults aged 18-28. Small groups meet Thursday nights at 7pm. [Info: ext. 1226]

Senior’s Bible Study Day/Time Change - The Senior’s Bible Study has changed to Tuesday afternoons from 12:30-1:30pm meeting in the gym lobby, and being taught by Gordon DeBever. [Info: ext. 1226]

Featured Missionary - Jeff and Eleanor Short serve the Lord as missionaries in Thailand. Their vision for ministry is to disciple the youth and are currently house parents for 10 teenage boys at Christian Happy Homes and they teach English to 60 students within the surrounding villages. Please pray for open doors of ministry in Thailand to be a place of hope and refuge for the youth and for unity among the Christian churches. Jeff and Eleanor are also expecting their first child in March 2011.

Churchwide Rummage Sale - We’re hosting a rummage sale on Saturday, October 16th, from 8am-Noon in the North Parking Lot. All proceeds will go towards church ministries. More info to come. Volunteers needed. [Info: ext. 1283]

Spanish Service ”La Palabra” - Come and invite your Spanish speaking friends and family to our Spanish service, ”La Palabra” meeting each Sunday at 11am in the Auditorium. The Treasure Box - The next order deadline is Sunday, September 12th. The pick up date is Saturday, September 25th (all unclaimed food will be donated). Salt  & Light Ministry - This ministry educates Christians about important current events and teaches them to examine those issues from a Biblical perspective. We spend time praying for our leaders and our land. Be salt and light to our city, state, and nation. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month in room 302 from 6:30-8:30pm. C3: Horizon Singles Ministry  - Singles in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are invited to C3 (Christ-Centered Connections), a monthly fellowship sponsored by the Singles Ministry. NEW! Homeschooling through Horizon Christian Academy - HCA has a new homeschooling program! Termed PSP (private school satellite program), we run on and off campus programs for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Students of all grade levels  have the option of taking classes and participating in school related activities on our campuses.
